Ubisoft surprised many of us with its sudden announcement of Far Cry Primal. Set in the Stone Age, 10,000 B.C., this game promises to offer a unique environment, gameplay and storyline. There hasn’t been much that we knew about Far Cry Primal until just now.
As it happens, Ubisoft provided us with a slightly better trailer at The Game Awards that took place in Los Angeles. You get to see more of the vicious animals that will fight with or against you in the franchise’s upcoming game. A bit of gameplay is also revealed showing you how you can direct beasts to kill the enemies for you.
By looking at the trailer, it feels similar to the experience that you enjoy in Shangri-La in Far Cry 4. You get the tiger that you can instruct to take down enemies for you. Far Cry Primal might be borrowing some of those elements from the Shangri-La part of Far Cry 4, a part that I enjoyed tremendously.
When the first trailer of Far Cry Primal was revealed, I was hesitant about a game where I couldn’t play with a weapon. But the more I play Far Cry 4 with the bow, the more I realize that it could actually be a good experience. This trailer makes it clear that you don’t need modern gun to enjoy a memorable battle. Especially when you have vicious beasts like this, a weapon might do no good to protect you.
Far Cry Primal will be released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on February 23, 2016. PC gamers will need to wait a bit longer until March 1 to get their hands on this game.
I’m excited to try out Far Cry Primal. Are you?
